Reflections on 2016

img_2299Happy Holidays! What a wonderful year we have had here at Summit Dental. The road has been long with even a few bumps along the way, but it has been worth it to see what Summit Dental has become. I started this journey 7 ½ years ago when Dr. Peers decided to open his own office, away from corporate, where he could treat patients as people and even friends. Opening a brand new start-up business is not an easy task in any economy, but we knew that if we treated people with respect, listened to their concerns about what was important to them, and helped them achieve a high level of dental hygiene, we could create an amazing place to come to work in and be proud of.
We have looked long and hard for the right team members and most importantly, the right Doctor to continue the journey when Dr. Peers decided it was time for a change of scenery. Dr. Spillers has brought such an amazing energy! He feels it’s important to use the best materials and equipment, be up to date on the latest techniques, and loves doing dentistry every day. He has helped us create a place where even people with high dental anxiety can feel comfortable and relaxed. He has brought many new and exciting things to the practice in the past year. He went through additional training to become certified to perform IV Sedation. He is trained and offers Invisalign for those who are interested in orthodontics without having to have metal braces. He purchased a scanner that allows us to scan and send 3-D images directly to our lab, allowing the lab to work with an exact copy of a tooth instead of worrying about distortion from impression material. This is not to leave out all the little things he has made available to patients to bring a little comfort while here in our office. For example, disposable toothbrushes when you are in a hurry and don’t get a chance to brush before your appointment, a more user-friendly website, and a music service that allows us to specialize the music played in each room according to the patient’s likes.
We are so grateful to have the best patients in Las Vegas! We wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
